About Us

Hills Education Group Sdn Bhd (HEG) is a company registered in Malaysia under the Registrar of Companies in 2011.  HEG was established to provide education and training services in Malaysia.  The company is made up of professionals who have spent a large number of years in the education industry in various positions.  HEG is strong in understanding the needs of the industry sector, conceptualizing programs to meet set objectives and delivering the content in the most efficient manner through the use of current teaching mediums and technology.

MEET THE TEAM...

ARNEZ DESMOND GEORGE FERNANDEZ - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Arnez Desmond is the CEO of Hills Education Group Sdn Bhd.  He has a degree in Business Computing from the University of Wales and a Postgraduate from University of Leicester.  He started as a lecturer for Informatics Computer School teaching at diploma level in 1997 before joining FACT software to setup and manage their marketing team.  He has also taught at several other institutions and worked for Cybraine Pte Ltd as a Business & IT Consultant to SMEs.  He later moved back into teaching and setup SimpleNotes a training company specializing in LCCI programs which later became United Asia School of Management Pte Ltd (UASM).  UASM offered diploma programs through BTEC and within a year partnered with Teesside University through an articulation arrangement.  UASM had students locally and from Asia. Throughout his tenure as CEO, UASM was an independently audited Credit A rated SME. He exited the business in 2013 and formed The Asia Trainers to focus on developing and offering training content to SMEs and MNCs.

DR. JERRY LUFTMAN - INTERNATONAL IT ACADEMICS DIRECTOR

Dr. Luftman's experience ranges from senior management issues through tactical implementation.  Dr. Luftman most recently pioneered the vehicle for assessing the maturity of IT-business alignment, where he has a benchmark repository of over one-third of the Global 1,000 companies.  He also serves on the Executive Board of several companies, associations, and publications.

After a distinguished twenty-two year career with IBM, he had an exemplary career for about twenty years as Professor, Founder and Associate Dean of the Stevens Institute of Technology Information Systems Programs (one of the largest in the world).  Driven by the strong demand for a global executive education program focusing on managing information technology, Dr. Luftman has leveraged his experience as a CIO, IT management consultant, and leading academic, with his strong network of prominent IT practitioners and academics, to provide valuable and innovative initiatives.

DR. DOGAN GURSOY - INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ACADEMIICS DIRECTOR 

Dr. Dogan Gursoy is the Taco Bell Distinguished Professor in the School of Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management. His area of research includes services management, hospitality and tourism marketing, tourist behavior, travelers’ information search behavior, community support for tourism development, cross-cultural studies, consumer behavior, involvement and generational leadership. His research has been published broadly in refereed Tier I journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research. He has also developed and designed the “Hotel Business Management Training Simulation”, a virtual management training game where participants are divided into teams and assigned the task of running 500-room hotels in a competitive virtual marketplace.
